STEP ONE: Looking at (4x + 6), our first step would be to try to factor out the greatest common multiple between 4 and 6, also known as the GCM. This can be found to be 2!
STEP TWO: With our GCM being 2, we now will factor out a 2 from both numbers in our problem, 4x and 6. To do this, we divide 4x/2 and 6/2, and use the 2 as our new coefficient!
4x/2 = 2x
6/2 = 3
STEP THREE: Write out your final answer! This would be: 2(2x + 3)
