The length of a rectangle is 3 more than its width. If the perimeter is 46 feet what are the dimensions of the rectangle?

perimeter=46 feets

=l+b=46/2=23 .........(2)now substituting value of l from eqn1 into eqn2,and then solving them we get

=b+3+b=23

=2b=23-3=20

=b=20/2=10 feet ,now putting this in eqn1

l=b+3=10+3=13 feet
