When finding lines that are perpendicular to equations and a point, do these following steps:
1.) Take the inverse of the slope and change the sign. In this case, the slope will be + 1.
2.) To obtain a point-slope equation:
y - y1 = m(x - x1)
y -(-2) = 1(x - -1)
y + 2 = 1(x +1)
3.) To get it is slope-intercept form
y + 2 = 1(x +1)
y = x + 1 -2
y = x -1
