To find the inverse of a function, let's first start by writing the function as a y = equation so it's a little easier to work with.
y = 4x
Next, we want to find the inverse. The word inverse should make you think "switch", and that's the basis of the next step, which is to input y for all the x values and x for all the y values, to get to
x = 4y
Next, solve for y
y = x/4
This is your final inverse function, which should be written as
f-1(x) = x/4
