You can create equivalent ratios by multiplying the numerator and denominator by the same number. This is really multiplying by 1, written in a different form i.e. 2 = 1

The ratio 4 to 7 can be written in fraction form as 4
7
Equivalent ratios would include 4 • 2 = 8
7 2 14
Another would be 4 • 3 = 12
7 3 21
