A rectangle has four sides with two of those sides being equal to one another and the other two sides equal to one another.
For this screen with a perimeter of 200 cm and one side length of 40 cm, we can determine the other side length by subtracting 2 times 40 cm from the total of 200 cm: 200 - 2 • 40 = 200 - 80 = 120 cm
This would mean that we have 120 cm to divide evenly between the remaining sides: 120 /2 = 60 cm each for the remaining sides.
The area of a rectangle is determined by multiplying the two side lengths. Here these will be 40 cm and 60 cm:
Area = 40 • 60 = 2400 cm2
