Given that:
Area of the square = A = 289 ft2
To Find:
Side of the square = ?
Solution:
Let the side of the square = X
We know that;
Area of the square = Side A * Side B
Since all the sides of the square are of equal magnitude, so we can denote all of them by the symbol "X"
So, Area of the square = X * X = X2
From the given data:
Area = 289 ft2
So, X2 = 289 ft2
Taking square root on both sides:
√X2 = √289
X = √17 *17 = √(17)2
X = 17 ft
So, the side of the square is = 17 ft
