In a northern European country, the formula y=0.037x2−2.5x+62.52

the formula

y=0.037x2−2.5x+62.52

models the number of deaths per year per thousand people, , for people who are years old, 40≤x≤60. Approximately how many people per thousand who are 53 years old die each year? For the purposes of this problem, please round your answer to a whole number.

Approximately________ people per thousand who are 53 years old die each year.

So I would take the age that you are trying to find the deaths for, and plug it into the x part of the equation because y is the number your are looking for. Wherever there is an x in the equation you can substitute 53. Solve the equation from there and round and you’ll have your answer!
