We're going to start by writing out the corresponding equations.
a = 30 + 4b (the measure of angle a is 30 more than four times b)
a + b = 170
Subtracting the first equation from the second equation yields b = 140-4b. Therefore, b = 28.
Plugging b back into the second equation gives a = 142
