I agree with the suggestion by the other tutor below for written communication. However, if a student asked this question from a speech communication perspective, I would say ‘it depends’ because oral communication has certain structures but becomes messier and messier as we consider all that goes into communicating. This kind of question is often discussed in introductory communication and speech courses.
