The nearest tenth means rounding to one number after the decimal place. To round, we must look at the number in the thousandths place, or the second number to the right of the decimal.
If the number is 5 or greater, we increase the number in the tenths place by 1. If the number is 0-4, we keep the number in the tenths place the same.
For example,
.12 rounded to the nearest tenth is .1
.28 rounded to the nearest tenth is .3
