You would have to use the following formula:
y2 - y = m(x2 - x) where y and x refer to the first y and x values, respetively, and y2 and x2 refer to the second values, respectively, and m is the slope.
For our example, I would get m by itself.
y2 - y/x2 - x = m
The points being determined x and y are arbitrary so for now I will say point (-7, -2) is the first point X and (-6, 7) is the second point. So we will substitute the following values in:
7 - -2/ -6 - -7 = m
9/1 = m
9 = m
The equation would have a slope of 9.
