Factor the binomial by finding the GCF

What does it mean factor the binomial? I understand find the GFC but I don't understand how to write the problem after it has been solved.

GCF goes on the outside of the parenthesis. You divide each term of the binomial by the GCF and that is what goes inside the parenthesis.

Here is an example

21x²+3x The GCF is 3x Divide both terms by the GCF

21x²/3x+3x/3x Reduce and put the GCF out in front

3x(7x+1)
