What kind of transformation converts the graph of f(x)= – 4x–7 into the graph of g(x)= – 8x–7?

It is horizontal compression by a factor of 2

f(x) = -4x-7

lets assume that g (x) is the new function

g(x) = f(2x) = -4(2x)-7

g(x) =f(2x) =-8x-7

the x value is to be compressed by 2 which means divided by half so that when plugged into f(2x) the y value is unchanged.

for example f (4) = -4(4)-7 = -23

g(2) = -8(2) -7 = -23

the x value had to be compressed on the new function in order to keep the y value the same
