jacob's science teacher told him that his average score for the 7 tests this semester was 82. if jacob makes 100 on the next test, how high will his average be?

You will have to have 7 scores of 82 and then add in the extra 100. Divide by 8 because there are now 8 scores instead of 7.

[7(82)+100]/8 = new average

674/8 = 84.2
