if f(x)=2x^2+1 and g(x)-x^2-7, find (f+g)(x)
Think this way :(f+g)(x)=f(x)+g(x)=(2x2+1)+(x2-7)=3x2-6.
I hope this helps!

To find the solution, you add the polynomials together and combine like terms
(f+g)(x)=(2x2+1)+(-x2-7)
(f+g)(x)=2x2-x2+1-7
(f+g)(x)=x2-6
