What is the rate of change of the line that passes trough both points? How do i solve it?
it says line, so equation of line look like: y=mx+b, where m is slope or rate of change.
given x=-7 and y=9
and x=-18 and y=9
plug these value, you get 9=m(-7)+b,
and 9=m(-18)+b,
since both equation is same, which is 9, you can set m(-7)+b=m(-18)+b,
both side has +b, so we can subtract b from both side, you get m(-7)=m(-18).
solve for m=0. meaning slope or rate of change is 0.~~~~~~~~~~~this is answer.
However, I want you to know further:
Now plug m=0 into y=mx+b
y=0x+b
y=b. what is this mean? y value no change, always b because slope is 0.
Think a little more: 9=b.

I invite you to see my answer to the problem "How do I solve the rate of change for this equation?
" There is more info you can learn from here.
I hope this helps!
Please, give me sum up if you like it.
give me sum down if you do not like it.
give me explanation if I am wrong.
give me any comments regarding my answers.
Thanks!
