Let's start with our formula for volume of a cylinder, which is V= h*pi*r^2. We are given the volume, height (represented by h in our formula), and know that pi is roughly equal to 3.14; since we have all these variables we can solve for r.
Plugging in all the variables we know, that makes our equation look like:
324*pi=1*3.14*r^2. Divide both sides by pi gives us:
324=r^2. Square root both sides:
r=18 inches.
