The circumference, C, (or the distance around) of a circle is calculated by:
C = ¶ • d where ¶ = 3.14 and d represents the diameter of the circle
For this problem, the circumference C is 12.56 feet:
12.56 = 3.14 • d
12.56/3.14 = d
4 feet = d
The diameter is 4 feet.
