Great question!
Simply the skeletal system plays an important role for the human body. The four functions of this system are:
- Support: Gives structure to the body to allow for attachment of the tissues and organs.
- Protection: Provides safeguarding of the internal organs to include the brain, heart, lungs and abdominal structures.
- Movement: Allows attachments for the various muscles of the body to provide locomotion.
- Supply: Creates red and white blood cells through the bone marrow found within various bones of the skeleton.
Hope this helps! Cheers!
