The length of a rectangle is 4 m longer than it’s width. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 64 m, find it’s length and width.

L=4+W
P=64 = 2L + 2W
64= 2(4+W) + 2W = 8 +2W+2W = 8 + 4W
64 = 8 + 4W Divide by 4
16 = 2 + W
W = 16-2 = 14
L = 4+W = 4+14 = 18
