when do we say it is linear RELATIONSHIP? when x values and y values change in consistent rate/ratio or you have to come out with function with all the values they gave it to you.
Ex 1: x: -6, -3, 0, 3, 6, 9. and y: -6, -3, 0, 3, 6, 9. The function will be y=x.
Ex 2: x: -6, -3, 0, 3, 6, 9. and y: -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3. The function will be y=(1/3)x. (In this case, divide all x values by 3, you get all y values).
Ex 1: x: -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3 and y: -6, -3, 0, 3, 6, 9. The function will be y=3x. (In this case, multiply all x values by 3, you get all y values).
.....................etc.
Note: you can not come out of function with all the x and y values they gave it to you. If it is not a function, then x and y doesn't have linear RELATIONSHIP.
Trick: If the problems asks, if it is linear, then the answer is YES because all y values are 5.
If the problems asks, if it is linear RELATIONSHIP, then the answer is NO.
Please, give me sum up if you like it.
give me sum down if you do not like it.
give me explanation if I am wrong.
give me any comment regarding my answer.
Thanks! take care during this corona season.
