If I blend equal parts 99% alcohol and 50% alcohol, what will be the percentage of the resulting alcohol?

We will need to make up some amounts of the alcohol. I will suggest we say they are each 50 g so the total will be 100 g.
The formula is
(percent)(amount) + (percent)(amount) = (percent)(total amount)
(.99)(50) + (.50)(50) = (x/100)(100)
49.5 + 25 = x (because the 100s cancelled out)
74.5% is the answer

If you combine equal parts, you can take the average of the 99% and 50%.03/16/20
