Each hemoglobin contains 4 heme and 1 globin. Each heme can carry 1 molecule of oxygen which means 2 oxygen atoms. So in total one hemoglobin has the capacity of carrying 4 oxygen molecules or 8 oxygen atoms(as it contain 4 heme)
