asked 02/27/20The diagram of circle G, where two chords EF---- and WV----, are congruent. Segment JK is a diamenter of circle G
and intersects EF----- at a right angle at point P. JK---- intersects WV----- at right angle at point O.
If PG= x-4 and GO= 1/2x+3, whats the length of PO----? Help please
a) -1
b) 10
c) 7

Draw a figure!!
The 2 chords are parallel (both perpendicular to the diameter) and since they are congruent, they must be the same distance from the center, i.e. length of GP = length of GO.
As Mukul S. stated if the expressions for length are correct, then none of the answers given is correct...and even if you interpret the fraction given as 1/(2x), none of the answers is correct.

Is G the center point of the circle? Is it correct to interpret that GO is given as 0.5*x + 3? If I got this right, then none of the above three answers for GO would be correct.02/27/20
