The Golden Rule of Fractions is whatever you do to the numerator, you also have to do to the denominator (and vice versa).
So let's go step-by-step:
What did we do to 50y to make it become 100y3?
- we multiplied 50 by 2 to get 100
- we multiplied y by y2 to get y3
- put it together, and we ended up multiplying 50y by 2y2 to get 100y3
Now follow the Golden Rule of Fractions:
Multiply 19 by 2y2 = 38y2
Put the expression back together:
- 19/50y = 38y2/100y3
