With L = length and W = width, the perimeter 2L + 2W = 260 meters. Also we are given that L = W + 20. Substitute this into the perimeter equation: 2(W + 20) + 2W = 260, 4W + 20 =260, 4W = 220. So W = 55 meters and L = 75 meters.

I goofed on reporting my expansion of 2(W + 20) which of course is 2W + 40; then adding the 2W already there, it's 4W + 40 = 260.02/20/20
