How is the y-intercept .72 for this problem

What is the y-intercept of r(x)=.76^x -2

-2 is not raised to a power like x is btw, it's subtracting 2

The answer is .72.. but I have no idea how it is this??

Arturo O.

Do you mean (0.76^x) - 2 or (0.76)^(x - 2) ?

Arturo O.

First, state r(x) correctly, and then evaluate r(0). The y-intercept is r(0). You posted other questions where you ask for the y-intercept. The y-intercept is always the function evaluated at x = 0.
