When t = 0 (seconds), h = 3.
When t =2,. h = 39 (feet)
Over this time interval the change in distance is 39 - 3. The change in time is 2 - 0.
So the average rate of change is (39 - 3) / (2 - 0) = 36 feet/ 2 seconds = 18 ft/sec.
Finding the average rate of change is just like finding the slope of a line (change in y)/(change in x)

Hi! So here are my steps. I hope this helps. You put t = 2 in the equation and get h(t) = 39feet. After that, you need to find out the average rate of change which is distance/time. In this case, it is 39/2 which is 18feet/second02/05/20
