A more general form would be y = a(x-h)^2 +k. The vertex is (h,k) = (-6,-2) as per Kat.
However, I don't see why we should assume -2 is a misprint and should have been 2. And had it been 2, then
k = 2 and the vertex would be (-6,2), not (-6,0)
