M=16,
72* 16^(3/4) = 72* root_4(16)^3
= 72 * 2^3
= 72 * 8

I am going to assume that the 'm' is missing from the equation and should be inserted as such:
C=72*m^.75.... m is in Kg
So, for a 16 KG dog, the formula gives:
C=72*16^.75
C=72*8
C=576 calories
