To find the area,
-width * height = 128 square feet
The width is twice as long as the the length
-Width = Length * 2. We can express this as:
W = 2L
And then multiply the length and the width.
L * 2L = 128
When we multiply 2L * L, we get '2L squared, which can be written as 2L^2:
2L^2 = 128
Divide each side by 2.
2L^2 / 2 = 128 / 2
Now, we have:
L^2 = 64
We want the Length, L, by itself. So, we will take the square root (√) of each side.
√L^2 = √64
The square root of L^2 is L. The square root of 64 is 8.
L = 8
Therefore, the length of the rectangle is 8 feet.
