Two angles are supplementary if their sum is 180 the larger angle measure four degrees more than three times the measure of a smaller angle if x represents the measure of the smaller angle and these two angles are supplementary find the measure of each angle

Answer 1

Let x = smaller angle

     180 - x = larger angle

 

180 - x = 3x + 4

 

    176 = 4x

 

        x = 44

 

The smaller angle has measure 44° and the larger angle has measure 136°.
