Since the sequence is arithmetic, that means that the same amount is added or subtracted from term to term. That is called the common difference. To find that number, subtract the first term from the second term:
6 - 23 = -17
So d = -17
Use that number and the steps I helped you with on your last question to find a9.
You can also continue to subtract 17 until you get to the ninth term.
