If 1/3 equals .3333333 and 2/3 equals .6666666, then why doesn't 3/3 equal .999999999

This question always keeps me thinking.

That is because 1/3 is APPROXIMATELY equal to 0.3333333. To have an exact equality, you would need infinitely many 3's after the decimal point.

Yes that Is true but If 1/3 is approximately 0.3333333 then that means that 3/3 is approximately 1 that means that 1 doesn't exactly equal 1
