How do I solve the equation x/-2 is greater than or equal to -5?

The x/-2 is in the form of a fraction. x is over -2., then the greater than or equal to symbol, and then -5. I'm in Algebra 1 class and we're learning about solving equations and inequalities. This speciffic equation came up and I have no idea how to solve it.

the ≥ -5 is in the middle of the x over -2. How do I solve this?

When doing Algebra and solving for an equation or an inequality you must remember the inverse operations to get the variable (x) by itself. In this case x/-2 is translated x divided by -2. So the inverse operation of DIVISION is MULTIPLICATION. Multiply -2 on both sides of the inequality and then flip the inequality to the opposite side. -2 times 5 would equal 10. x < =10
