Whenever you have 3 (or an odd number of) consecutive odd or even integers being summed, the middle number will be the average, and can therefore be set = n, and the sum in this case will be 3n. (Formally, the integers could be labeled n - 2, n, and n + 2).
Twice the sum is 6n = 30, so n = 5 and the largest will be 5 + 2 = 7.
