Start by combining like terms.
4d - 11 = 2d + 7
+ 11 +11
4d = 2d + 18
Continue combining like terms.
4d = 2d + 18
-2d -2d
2d = 18
Now we continue by further isolation of the variable.
2d = 18

d = 9
