Application problem with a linear function: Finding a coordinate given two points

Suppose that the weight (in pounds) of an airplane is a linear function of the amount of fuel (in gallons) in its tank. When carrying 20 gallons of fuel, the airplane weighs 2224 pounds. When carrying 55 gallons of fuel, it weighs 2441 pounds. How much does the airplane weigh if it is carrying 70 gallons of fuel?

The credit remaining on a phone card (in dollars) is a linear function of the total calling time made with the card (in minutes). The remaining credit after 28 minutes of calls is $26.36, and the remaining credit after 51 minutes of calls is $23.37. What is the remaining credit after 56 minutes of calls?

Use the same concept. The credit decreases by $2.99 in 23 minutes, which is a rate of 0.13 per minute. Another 5 minutes after 51 minutes would diminish the credit by 0.65. And 23.37 - 0.65 = 22.72
