So, it seems that you are having some troubles wrapping your head around the directions of and their impact on a coordinate.
First we need to understand what the coordinates (1,10) represent. One way I like to remember what order the coordinates are listed is by noting they are in alphabetical order (x, y). Next, we need to know what happens when we move a certain direction on the line to the values of the coordinates.
Left and right are related to the X coordinates and up and down are related to the Y coordinates.
When moving to the right along the X axis we are increasing our value. To the left would be decreasing the values.
When moving Up along the Y axis our value is going to be increasing (if we move up the value goes up) and when moving down along the Y axis our value is going to decrease (if we move down the value goes down)
That being said, if we are moving right or left like your question we then know that we must be dealing with the X coordinate from the given point (x=1, y=10). We then ask what direction we are moving. The direction is to the right which means the values for x will increase. If we move 3 units to the right that is going to give us 1(x value) + 3 (units moved to the right). So x = 1 + 3 = 4.
Since we have not moved up or down our Y coordinate will remain constant giving us then (4, 10) for the new location.
