The two consecutive numbers must be
n
n + 1
n + (n + 1) = 1126
2n + 1 = 1126
But 2n + 1 is an odd number, while 1126 is even, so there are no consecutive integers that add up to 1126. In fact, the sum of any two consecutive integers must always be an odd number. I suspect the problem is not worded correctly. Perhaps you meant to say the sum of two consecutive EVEN integers is 1126?
