f(x) = a(x - h)2 + k
f(x) = a(x + 1)2 - 9 insert vertex coordinates
0 = a(-7 + 1)2 - 9 insert root coordinates
0 = a(-6)2 - 9
0 = 36a - 9
9 = 36a
9/36 =a
1/4 = a
f(x) =(1/4)(x + 1)2 - 9

i think some information is missing-----first, are you talking about a parabola? If so, would need to know which way it is facing. OR--we would need to know if the root value of -7 is for x or y.12/18/19
