Math is one of many keys to our future.
great question! looks like a good proportionality question. It’s already 46.5 ft and they want it to reach 74.5ft. Let’s subtract those and see how much more it needs to grow.
74.5 - 46.5 = 28ft
its growing at the rate of 4 inches per yr. **** when dealing with rates, units of measure have to be the same. So we have to either work with inches or feet. Can’t be both. Let’s do inches. ***
4in/1yr = 336in/(x)
these are equal proportions so we just cross multiply and solve for (x).
4x = 336
x = 84 yrs
it will take 84 years for the tree to grow another 28ft.
