Let N = 3rd integer
Let N - 1 = 2nd integer
Let N - 2 = 1st integer
Then the sum of three consecutive integers is (N-2) + (N-1) +N=3N-3
The sum of the first and 2nd integers = (N-2) +(N-1) = 2N-3
Then we got the equation should be
(3N-3) - (2N-3) = 5
3N-3-2N+3=5
N=5
Thus the third number is 5.
