Plug in y=1 into the second equation. This will allow you to solve for x
-4x-6(1)=-14 Simplify
-4x-6=-14 Add 6 to both sides of the equation
-4x-6+6=-14+6 Simplify
-4x=-8 Divide both sides by -4
-4x/-4=-8/-4 Simplify
x=2
The solution, then is (2,1)
