We know the slope of the new line is 2 because parallel lines have the same slope.
We are give a point on the new line, (3,7).
Use the Point-Slope form to find the new line with the given point.
(y - y1) = m(x - x1) where m = slope
(y - 7) = 2(x - 3) plug in m = 2, x1 = 3 and y1 = 7
y - 7 = 2x - 6
y = 2x + 1 this is the new equation
