Use the "walkaround" method. For any figure: Whenever you come to a corner, you make a turn. Your turn is 180 degrees - the angle of that corner. Consider an equilateral where each angle is 60 degrees. At each angle, you turn through an angle of 120 - the angle.....in this case 180 - 60 = 120. You do this 3 times, and you have turned a total of 360 degrees.
Putting it in a general form: Call the angles A, B, and C. The 3 turns are then:
180 - A
180 - B
180 - C
The sum must be 360, therefore A+B+C must be 180 degrees
