I assume that the numbers in your problem are mixed numbers (53 4/5 , 1 1/6, and 1/1/3)
To find Jane's height, you would need to determine Bill's age first. This can be done by subtracting 1 1/6 inches from Roy's height of of 53 4/5.
53 4/5 - 1 1/6 : Use a common denominator of 30 for the fractions:
53 24/30 - 1 5/30 = 52 19/30 inches. This would be Bill's height.
To find Jane's, subtract 1 1/3 from Bill's height:
52 19/30 - 1 1/3 : Use a common denominator of 30 for the fractions:
52 19/30 - 1 10/30 = 51 9/30 inches OR 51 3/10 inches. This would be Jane's height.
