I assume that to find the solutions, this would be set equal to 0? If so, this can be solved by factoring.
0=x2-4x+5 Factor
0=(x-5)(x+1) Set each factor equal to zero and solve
x-5=0 add 5 to both sides
x=5
x+1=0 subtract 1 from both sides
x=-1
