I just need to know I am doing them right

Well, you have only given 2 compounds so it's difficult to tell if you are on the right route. What happened to 2-methylheptane? But yes, it seems like you are on the right track, but don't forget the ethyl and isopropyl substituents. It might help you if you looked up (Googled) the different isomers.
